KMTI and UMTI offer contractors, skilled craftsmen, and anyone willing to work an opportunity to build the facilities necessary for our ongoing growth. You can come for two weeks and work with a constrution team in your area of expertise. Here are a few of the needed skills:


  • Masonry and bricklaying
  • Painting
  • Electrical
  • Carpentry
  • Tile and carpeting
  • Woodworking and cabinetry
  • Glazers
  • General labor
  • …and much more

Construction Qualifications…

Short-term construction trips are available for qualified men and women. Here’s a great opportunity to get out of the pew and onto the field to put your skills to good use. In the process, your own life will be changed in ways you could not have imagined. Qualifications for craftsmen and workers include:

  • Pastoral recommendation
  • Complete a construction application
  • Phone or in-person interview with Ron Gray, Head of Building Teams (251-533-4150)
  • A contractor’s license is not required

Your Investment in East Africa…

Costs involved in short-term trips are borne by the workers and support that they raise for their trip. Typical costs are $3200 and include:

  • Air travel and ground transportation
  • A project donation (to cover cost of materials)
  • An optional two-day, photo safari is available for an additional $800 per person. Price includes: twin-engine aircraft, four-star lodging, meals, and guide. (This compares to a $3500 National Geographis type safari.)
  • Your mission trip is tax deductible.
